By default a service is identified by its plan name and IP address. With three or four of them, that stops being useful — VPS Plus and VPS Plus tell you nothing about which is the database and which is the staging box.
Labels
You can give any service your own label. It replaces the generic name in the services list and in the service page, everywhere in the dashboard.
Use whatever makes sense to you: db-primary, client website, mc-server-friends. The label is only visible to you and can be changed at any time.
Favourites
Mark a service as a favourite and it stays at the top of the list. Handy when you have many services but touch only two of them regularly.
