Cancelling a Service

01

Requesting the cancellation

Open the service and choose to cancel it. You will be asked when it should stop, and you can tell us why — that reason genuinely gets read, and it is the main way we find out what is not working.

02

Immediate or at the end of the term

Two options, with a real difference between them.

  • **End of term** — the service keeps running until the date you have already paid for, and is not renewed. This is almost always the right choice: you use what you paid for.
  • **Immediate** — the service is stopped and removed right away. You lose the remaining days of the current term.
03

Changing your mind

A cancellation scheduled for the end of the term can be withdrawn from the same page at any point before that date. The service then goes back to renewing normally, as if nothing had happened.

An immediate cancellation that has already been carried out cannot be undone.

04

Before the date arrives

When the cancellation takes effect the service is terminated and its data is deleted for good. Take your backups first — copy off databases, configuration and anything you would not want to rebuild from scratch.

05

Invoices already issued

If an invoice for the next term has already been issued and you cancel before paying it, that invoice no longer applies and you can ignore it. If you have already paid it, contact support about a refund rather than letting it sit.
