Cards and Saved Cards
Paying by card
Card details are entered on the payment provider's form, not ours. If your bank asks for 3-D Secure confirmation, you complete it there and come back to the dashboard with the invoice already settled.
What we actually store
We never receive the full card number. When you choose to save a card, the provider returns a token that identifies it, and that token is what sits on your account.
In the dashboard you see only the card type, the last digits and the expiry — enough to recognise it, useless to anyone else.
Why a card gets declined
Declines come from your bank, not from us, and the most common reasons are mundane.
- The card has expired — save the new one and set it as default.
- Insufficient funds at the moment of the charge.
- The bank blocked a recurring or foreign transaction — a call to them usually resolves it.
- Online or recurring payments are disabled on the card.
Keeping it current
When a card is replaced, save the new one and set it as default before removing the old one. Renewals then keep going through and you never see a failed charge email.
