Account Credit
What credit is
Credit is a balance held on your DeluxHost account that can be used to pay invoices. It behaves like a prepaid wallet: you put money in once, and it is drawn down as invoices are settled.
It is not a bank account. Credit can pay for our services, but it cannot be withdrawn back to a card or a PayPal account.
Where credit comes from
Your balance can grow in three ways.
- **Top-ups** — you deliberately add an amount from the Credit page.
- **Downgrades** — the prorated difference from a plan downgrade is returned as credit.
- **Refunds issued as credit** — when a refund is handled that way rather than back to the original method.
Topping up
Go to Credit, enter the amount and pay it like any other invoice — a top-up generates its own invoice, which is why it appears in your invoice list too.
Once the payment is confirmed, the balance updates and is immediately usable.
Paying with credit
On any unpaid invoice, credit appears as a payment option when the balance covers the total. Settling from credit is instant, with no gateway involved and no card to fail.
If the balance covers only part of the invoice, pay the remainder with another method — an invoice can be settled by more than one payment.
The transaction ledger
The Credit page lists every movement: top-ups, invoice payments, downgrade credits, refunds. Each row shows the date, the amount and what caused it, so a balance you were not expecting can always be traced back to its origin.
